Personality

A gruff and serious individual most of the time, Piccolo attempts to retain his dignity as a warrior. While he is noted for his intelligence and cunning, he thinks of himself as a fighter first and foremost. He's extremely dedicated to self-improvement.

However, thanks to his friends and students, he has gotten used to being the straight man and his dignity frequently has holes poked in it. In particular, he has developed a sense of compassion and often ends up taking care of people. He gets easily flustered by emotional moments. Despite becoming softer over time, he retains a hard edge and has no problem mercilessly dispatching foes. When he does let his sense of humour show, it's usually sharp and a shade sadistic.

Piccolo is naturally competitive, and even if a contest is outside of his usual interests (like a cabbage harvesting race or bingo), he finds it hard to refuse a challenge. He's a sore loser too.

Piccolo is distinctly aware that he does not fit in anywhere—he is unlike any other Namekian, and yet has no place on his adopted homeworld. His lonely lifestyle is partially by choice and partially by habit. His severe attitude also tries to cover up his shy nature. But all of this ultimately results in him highly valuing the relationships he does have, and his track record of taking hits meant for others, putting up with silliness and doing favours outside of his wheelhouse shows it.

Abilities

First—Power levels are bullshit. I play Piccolo in memes, he'll only ever be as powerful as makes a scene cool.

Not getting bogged down in specific techniques, he can use his ki to blast things and fly, and he is noted for being creative with his moves. He can sense biological energy, but not machines.

Thanks to his Namekian biology, he's developed techniques for body control such as extending limbs, changing size and regenerating.

He can use some magic, most notably Magic Materialisation, i.e., making items poof into existence. But he's also capable of telepathy, making clones of himself, sealing entities, possession and far-seeing.

His big ol' ears give him fantastic hearing.

Not likely to come up, but he has inherited his father's eternal youth.

Piccolo has two power-up forms—Power Awakening and Orange Piccolo. Power Awakening changes his appearance very little, his skin turning paler and smoothing out, and gaining a little bulk. It appears to increase his overall abilities evenly. Orange Piccolo turns him into an absolute beast and seems to increase his physical prowess especially. The precise details of both transformations are unknown as yet.

As much as I love Dragon Ball Abridged, please try not to reference it loads—the odd joke here or there is fine. I'll do that myself, but experience has taught me it's hard to carry a thread.

I tend to default to common dub names, e.g. Special Beam Cannon, not Makankōsappō. They're just easier to remember.
